Round table meeting on Farmer Community Led Licorice trial

During the Annual Steering Committee meeting, the project staff has proposed to form the Learning Alliances (LA) for the rehabilitation of the abandoned lands through Licorice growing, which will consist of farmers, local authorities and project staff. The major purpose of the LA is streamlining of the project activities, strengthen project- end user- other stakeholders relationships, to create the common platform to discuss current and future plans. This in mind 31st of May, “bright” spots project in cooperation with Gulistan State University (GSU) organized one-day long round table meeting in Gulistan city, Uzbekistan. Project staff attended the meeting, farmers involved in licorice trial, NARES researchers who are engaged in project and representatives of the local government, who are responsible for land and water management and representatives of national and local mass media.
